So do it.
Tear my skin
Let it be rent and runneled
For the sake of shadows.
Don’t know who I’d prefer to win.
Just do it:
Gouge my soul
Let it be burnt and harried
Run through, bled out, discarded;
A battered begging-bowl
I knew it:
Break my heart
Let it be drawn and quartered
Railroaded; keelhauled
Unheeded – torn apart
Yet through it
Is it because you know me well?
Can’t help but be reminded
The thousand ways I love your kindness
So. I’m set to run through hell.
gets right to the heart. thankyou

JNY!!! I’ve missed you so much!!! How ARE you?!?! *hugs*
And yes. The poem. I’m trying very hard to manage myself better, emotionally. Not sure I’m quite there yet.

I wrote it a few days ago. It became pertinent again today but from a slightly different skew. Love how poetry can be a bit adaptive like that.

I felt (/feel) very strongly about it. Sometimes I find poetry is the safest (or only) way I can deal with these things.

I don’t even know how to describe the feelings I’m left with after reading this. It is that good.

You’re very kind. It’s a jangly one but I was feeling jangly when I wrote it.
