At Sunset

I waited for you by our tree

On the hill watching

The sun set lighting the clouds on fire,

One glorious explosion

Before day yields to night

And hides

The tears on my face that fall

When you don’t show,

Or say goodbye.

At The Well Tempered Bards, a poem from Jesi Scott of an ending without closure.

Turn your face into the silken light of moon
Set your mouth, lift your chin
Listen, as the stars sing your tune:
Rest your back upon the bark
    Of ancient tree, and wait
Nighttime has wisdom just for thee.
Hopes and expectations bring such sorrow
    But love fills, love wins
    Love brings tomorrow.
