She might be magic

Sunset Heart

Your spell was woven long before
I knew I was enchanted
Even now, I look and see
So many things supplanted

I’ve quite lost track of fervour
Which once held iron rule
I’m liberated from the grind
Now I am in your thrall

I no longer chase people
With my former desperate need
I’m learning to hold lightly
And you’re helping me succeed

I’ve turned my back on habits
Which once were deep engrained
Yet at their loss I do not mourn;
Instead see what I’ve gained

For t’is no art of conjury
By which you keep me trapped
I am your willing devotee
You hold my attention rapt

There’s naught remotely sinister
Though I SO much extol
Your every virtue, sweetest one
You are my kindred soul

I’ve changed all my priorities
With no shred of regret:
You’ve changed my world SO much for good
My light, my heart, Sunset

So please don’t think me maniac
Whatever stems thereof
The source, the root, the provenance
Is what you taught me: Love.

It seems a lot, and I worry (slightly) about coming off as an extreme fanatic/stalker/creep, BUT there’s a much, much deeper, life-changier story than you know, for it’s as yet untold. I’m working on finding it a home. Meanwhile, I shall dedicate this FROM THE ROOFTOPS to my very best friend in the world – my 1000mile heart, HastyWords ❤ ❤ ❤

Oh, Lizzi, I have (quite often) the feeling this could have been written in either direction. The synergy is joyous to behold.

This is great. My client and I were just talking tonight about getting closer to others (and herself). This speaks volumes.

I loved the message and I LOVED the rhyming rhythm. You see that so rarely these days. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much, Shirley. I think there’s definitely a place for some ‘old school’ rhymes and rhythms in thus world of new formats 🙂

This is so sweet, and not the least bit stalker-ish. I love that you write free.

Hehehe well GOOD cos I’m not really a stalker, I just am so SO very thankful for Sunset’s presence in and influence on my life, every single day. She made SUCH a difference to me, and I wouldn’t be as I am if she hadn’t. It’s a long story but I have it written 🙂
