Night Swimmer

This is especially written and crafted for my beautiful, sunshine friend, Mandi, because it’s her birthday and I adore her and she swims at night and I always think that must be utterly, utterly amazing.

Happy birthday, Squishy, mine. Love you ❀ ❀ ❀

Night Swimmer

Night and heat

Surrounded by velvet dark

In shade disrobe, step in

And float away your heart

Lie back, let go

Let water hold you cradled

Mind trails fingertips

As star-kissed night enables

Freer thoughts than those

Held down by gravity

Buoyed beyond your limits

A million-mile reality

Splash sparkling fountains

Towards the sky

Power each stroke

With joy for life

Amidst the Everyday

And summer heat-simmer

Make time for magic

Forever Night Swimmer

Lizzi…this is so beautiful and everything that I love about you. You give good poetry. And now I’m all glowey. *twinklysparklygoodness* at its best.

  3. I absolutely adore this poem! I’ve read it like 5 times already. As I read every work, I imagined Mandi in the pool. What a great bday wish, Honeybee. xoxo
