Guest Bard: Dragonfly

Rooted resentment under skin lies
She wants to forgive, tries and tries
An olive branch extended
She accepts but resists
Realization sifts
Through the old pain
She begins
To for

Bards’ Verdict: Beth writes so beautifully it hurts. There is much beneath the surface of her poems and the wonder is in trying to follow the threads from her words to her soul, and maybe, if you look hard enough, catching a glimpse.

  1. Beautifully said AND drawn. That is exactly how I feel about resentment. The struggle of forgiveness and fighting for freedom.

I liked dragonflies before, but NOW I love them!!!

  7. Forgiveness is a biggie, every time I think I have, something else pops up and I realize I am still hanging onto some part of it. Beautifully done Beth! Congratulations on being a guest blogger here and your progress in your poetry. Lovely! =)

Wow. Well done. With so few words, you've captured the difficult journey of one of the hardest things in life, forgiveness. We all deserve second chances, we all make mistakes, but when it comes to FORGIVING someone, that is the hardest part of the whole darn thing, isn't it? This is beautiful.

  13. […] like to submit a poem to my Guest Bards series, and she knocked it out of the ballpark with such a simple, incredible poem that I was rendered speechless…and my words turned into lines on the page instead of letters. […]
